Hello!!

My name is Alicia Kennebrew and I am Stone Mountain Elementary School’s Media Specialist.

I am an alumni of the DeKalb County School system, having attended Rainbow Elementary and Southwest DeKalb High School.   After graduating from high school, I attended the University of West Georgia and earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology.  I also attended Clark Atlanta University and earned a master’s degree in Library Sciences.  Over my sixteen year career, I have worked with the youth in academic, public and school library settings in various venues, with thirteen of those years working in the DeKalb and Clayton County public school system.

I am very excited about this upcoming school year at Stone Mountain Elementary!  My ongoing goal is to promote reading literacy through various school reading programs for our students.

I am very fortunate to serve the students, faculty and staff of Stone Mountain Elementary.  Stone Mountain Elementary has a wonderful media center filled with a variety of library resources, technology, and books. Students come to the library with their class for research lessons and to check out books on a weekly basis.

Your child is always welcomed to visit the library during school hours, with teacher’s permission.  Please encourage your child to read and visit me in the library often this year.  I look forward to working with you and your child during the school year!

Alicia Kennebrew,

Stone Mountain Elementary School
